Loving this gorgeous tailcoat mini by Alexander Wang. So easy to make yourself - take a mini skirt, and attach some matching fabric in the shape of a tailcoat. Cute! I especially like the detail of securing with buttons at the front.

DIY Belted Bags

Have been seeing belt style buckles on bags everywhere. Make like the pros and wrap a few belts around your handbag.

DIY Inspiration - Alexander Wang Dress Pants

Love these pants found on Knight Cat (one of my favourite blogs for sourcing images) by Alexander Wang. Very cool. Next time you wear belted trousers, attach the belt through the two front loops, leaving the back pulled high around your shirt (or bare skin). Put the belt fastening at the back.

DIY Paint Splattered Lab Coat

If you work in a kindergarden or as a nanny you have an advantage in terms of DIYing this paint splattered look, otherwise - embrace your inner artiste and splatter some paint on your clothes. Try not to smudge the paint together though because everyone knows what colour you get when you do that: poo brown. Just sayin'. To create some nice patterns instead of just splatters, get some textured items and do some stamping, my bfs football would do a nice pattern when dipped in paint and rolled over a pair of jeans. I wonder if he would mind...

DIY Denim Autumn Layering

Am finding it very difficult to get dressed with this trans-seasonal weather. Too warm for coats and capes, too cool for bare arms and getting sick of wearing leather jackets allll the time. Layering is key - and cute Alexander Wang Inspired DIY layering is where its at. Cut the arms off a denim jacket, layer underneath with hoodies or long sleeved tops. Perfect!

DIY Alexander Wang Football Clutch

Could you? Would you? I suggest using a vintage leather american football (sourced at the markets or an antiques store?) cutting it open along one seam, sewing in zip and attaching a leather strap in a similar coloured leather... Not for the faint hearted I suggest.

DIY Sheer Trews!

Have loved these sheer pants ever since I saw a similar version on one of the Olsens (who ever knows which?). Found a great DIY from Jazzi McG.  She hits the nail on the head when she says that she doesn't want to shell out an arm and a leg for something that can be found online for nothing - she recommends searching ebay for sheer/chiffon/silk lounge pants) - or even thrifted! She bought a 'sexy' sheer pj set on ebay (third photo). I am planning on doing as she advises and sewing black cuffs on sheer pants  so that they are tight around the ankle. Wear high waisted, wack some cute shorts underneath and voila!

DIY Alexander Wang Style Deconstructed Jacket

These deconstructed/reconstructed jackets, inspired by Alexander Wang's recent sporty lux collection, look like prime candidates for a sneaky DIY. You'll need:

• a denim/khaki jack or waistcoat
• hooded grey marl cotton or knitted jumper/cardigan/tracksuit top
• needle and thread or sewing machine.

 If you are using a denim or khaki jacket, cut off the sleeves at the shoulder, keeping the cuffs to sew onto the finished product. Cut the sleeves and hood off the grey marl top. Attach sleeves at the shoulder and hood at the neck. Finally attach the cuffs from the first jacket to the marl sleeves.

DIY - Alexander Wang Grey Marl Sweat Shorts

Simply take a pair of old grey marl track pants, cut to shorts, roll the hem up and then stitch in place. The slouchier the better. Best worn with heels/wedges.
